After School Program in Jackson and Plymouth

This program is 100% FREE! Open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Located at Lodge Hill in Plymouth open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and in Jackson at The Hub open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2-5. We do all sorts of fun activities and projects as well as the occasional field trip (free also!). Homework help is available and snacks are provided. We are open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2pm-5pm. Be sure to bring your completed and signed by a parent waiver form. We will not meet on school holidays or minimum days. Downhill Extravaganza

Saturday September 12th, starting at 4pm
Bring your whole family and ride Big Wheels down this fun course on Main Street in Amador City!
$5 per person or $20 for a family for unlimited rides. Pre-registration is available and same day sign ups are welcome!
ALL RIDERS MUST HAVE...
A signed waiver, closed-toe shoes and a helmet. BYOBW: Bring your own big wheel! (or borrow someone else's)

Drive In on the Green

2nd Annual Amador Upcountry Rotary Club Drive In on the Green Saturday, September 26th at Mace Meadows Golf Course. Enjoy family fun on the fairway with a craft fair, hot rods and a FREE drive-in movie, "The California Kid". The event starts at 2pm and the movie starts at 8pm. Hamburgers, hotdogs, rootbeer floats, beer, wine and popcorn will be available to purchase.

It's the grand opening of the ACRA-ARCD Community Garden in Jackson. Plot reservations are now available!
Small plots: 4x12 - $50 annual fee
Large plots: 4x24 - $100 annual fee
PLUS $100 refundable deposit

Ghost Trails Cemetery Hunt

Take a trip back in time on the ghost trails adventure! A scavenger hunt through the historic Pine Grove, Aqueduct and Volcano cemeteries. Use a map to find specific cemeteries on the adventure. Find the headstones that correspond to short stories of pioneers, their journey west and settling in Amador County. Packets are $10, available at the ACRA office or we can email it to you. This is a great family activity! Proceeds benefits ACRA and the Amador County Cemetery Board.

Tri Amador Triathlon

Sunday October 4th -- Sprint and Olympic Distances Available, a USAT Sanctioned Triathlon. The swim takes place in the waters of Lake Camanche, the bike ride features a loop through the beautiful hills of Buena Vista, and the run is an out-and-back on the lakeview China Gulch Trail. Prizes to the top overall finishers -- Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals to the top 3 finishers in each age group. Each participant will receive a free t-shirt, a goodie bag, and healthy snacks throughout the day.

Astronomy

Monthly astronomy meetings at the HUB in Jackson at 7pm. Free to all astronomers, bring your telescopes! 2015 meeting dates: Feb-7, Mar-7, Apr-11, May-2, Jun-6, Jul-11, Aug-1, Sep-26, Oct-24, Nov-28, Dec-19.

Gardening - Raising a Fall Garden

The ACRA-ACRD Community Garden is having another class on September 26th; Raising a Fall Garden! This class is all about your fall garden, what to plant, when to plant, etc. There are two times available: 8-9am or 9:30-10:30am. $15 donation. Tennis - Junior Team Tennis League

Open to boys and girls ages 7-14, all levels welcome, even beginners! Six match days (Oct 4 to Nov 8). Matches on SUNDAYS between 11am and 5pm depending on the total number of teams. Register by August 7 and save $10! Final registration deadline August 29.
