After School Program in Plymouth

The After School Program is available for all Jr. High School kids and is FREE! Tuesdays-Thursdays from 2-5pm. Experienced program leaders offer homework help and lead fun activities and games! For more information e-mail jlarsen@amadorgov.org.

Aquathlon - Splash & Sprint at Bear River Reservoir

Join us Saturday, September 7th for ACRA's first AQUATHLON - swim & run race - at Bear River Reservoir. The event consists of a 1 mile cross-lake swim and a 2 mile run. Entry fee is $45 and age group awards will be presented to top finishers. Call ACRA for more information at 223-6349.

BBQ - ACRA's Kennedy Mine Deep Pit BBQ

Tickets are now available for our event on May 18! Cost is $25 and includes dinner, entertainment, and mine tours. ACRA is also hosting a horseshoe tournament. All proceeds to benefit ACRA and the Kennedy Mine Foundation. Call ACRA for more information at 223-6349.

BINGO! BINGO! BINGO!

Play on Monday nights, the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Mondays of the month. Doors open at 5:30pm, with early bird bingo at 6:10pm and the main event at 6:30 pm. Located at Thomi's Banquet Room in Jackson (dining available from Thomi's lunch and dinner menu). Averaging 10 games a night. Cash Prizes!!! Don't miss out!!! Quilt Show

Sierra Gold Quilters Guild present the Sierra Gold Harvest 2013 Quilt Show featuring vendor booths, country store, raffle baskets, demonstrations, refreshments, quilts for sale & small quilt auctions.
October 5-6, 2013 (Saturday 10 AM-5 PM & Sunday 10 AM-4 PM) at the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth.
Admission is $7 (husbands and children under 12 are free).

Swimming Lessons

Two week session for $40.00 at the Plymouth Pool adjacent to the Fairgrounds
Session 1: June 10-14 and 17-21, 11:45 - 12:15 p.m. or 12:15 - 12:45 pm (registration deadline June 7)
Session 2: July 8-12 & 15-19, 7 - 7:30p.m. or 7:30p.m.- 8:00 p.m. (registration deadline July 5)

17 years of age & younger $2.00

Weekend Recreation Swimming begins Saturday, May 25th, 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.
The pool will be OPEN Memorial Day Monday, May 27th

Weekday Recreation Swimming begins Monday, June 10th, 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.
The pool will be open during the Amador County Fair

Lap Swim (must swim laps) begins Monday, June 10th, Monday through Friday 7 p.m - 8 p.m.
Lap swim will also be available in the morning from 11:45-12:45pm June 10-21st, Monday-Friday

Party Rental - $50.00 for two hours plus the cost of lifeguards plus $1.00/head. Party times offered after regular swim hours. (Insurance Required)

Triathlon - Tri Amador

The triathlon will be located at Lake Camanche this year on October 6th - save the date! Registration will open in May/June. More details coming soon!

==========Camps==========

Horse Camp

Day camp at Laughton Ranch in Jackson on May 25 for kids aged 7-18! Participants will be getting hands on experience with basic horse care, grooming and saddle parts. Students will learn how to saddle a horse and then they will ride, assisted , depending on their age and experience.
7-11 year olds 9am-noon: $75
12-18 year olds 12:30-4pm: $90

Soccer Camps

ACRA is excited to announce that Challenger Sports British Soccer will be running a week-long soccer camp for all players this summer on the week of June 10-14th for boys and girls aged 3 - 16 years old. Professional British coaches will work with our players to help develop foot skills and core skills and techniques in the game to improve ball control, 1v1's, passing and shooting and defending. Over 125,000 children experienced this camp last year in the USA. All kids get a free ball and t-shirt, player evaluation and soccer poster and by signing up on-line before April 26th every player will get a FREE British Soccer Jersey! Theater - Children's Workshop

Looking for girls and boys ages 7 through 12 with lots of energy and creativity for our first Children's Theatre Workshop! There are 20 spots available for a 3-week theatre workshop. The workshop will begin with improvisational games, stage direction, & stage presence while building confidence through a theatre team. The team will write through improvisation and director assistance a play to be performed for an audience.
June 24, 2013 through July 11, 2013 (no workshop July 4th)
9am - noon Monday through Thursday (including snack break)

Cooking - The Art of Pies

Would you like to master the lost art of crafting a great pastry? Now is your time! Calling all Amador Pie bakers! Learn how to overcome any "pie-making fear" you may have, and let your inner pastry chef shine through. This class will provide an abundance of pie knowledge, an overview of the history of pie, the lost art of making a great pie crust, types of dough, troubleshooting tips & tricks, as well as a fool-proof flaky perfect pie crust recipe that will make your pies the star attraction of your family and holiday gatherings and possibly the Amador County Fair! Students will prepare their own Country Apple Pie during class, sample Pumpkin and Pecan pie fillings, in addition to leaving with all of the recipes of the day and a special gift courtesy of The Pie Belle. Pre-registration in office is required.

Fly Fishing

Learn how to Fly Fish with the Amador Flyfishers. Classes are May 18th and 19th with a fishing trip June 1st with location TBD. Classes will be held at The HUB Community Center. The cost is $35 per person, please pre-register. Space is limited, 18 years or older. Course content will include: Bugs -- their life cycle and importance to fishing, Overview of equipment and how to use it, Where the fish are holding in the water and why, casting techniques and more!

Photography Class

This class will cover: Photo Composition, Basic Camera Functions, Intro to Camera DSLR Equipment & Accessories, Landscape photography, Nature Photography, Portraiture. May 4 - June 8 on Saturdays 9am-11am. The cost of this 6-week class is $55 and pre-regsistration is required.

Flag Football

Youth Flag Football Starts May 19th. Games will be on Sundays at 1pm at the Jackson Jr. High Field. The cost is $40 per player and is a 6-on-6 non-contact league for grades 4th - 8th. Call or stop by the ACRA office to sign up or register online!
